Central to this mission is our commitment to be transparent about the data we collect about you and your vehicle, how it is used and with whom it is shared. This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes therefore our firm engagement to respect your privacy and work diligently to protect your confidential information. We sincerely value your trust.
We hereby warrant that you own all your trip recordings including driver and road facing videos. We will never claim ownership of these recordings. However, as a licensee of your information per the Terms of Service, Autokit will only use the data to improve the quality of the service and introduce additional features.
The link between your Autokit app, your phone, your vehicle and additional hardware if made available, is secure so that only you can control access to your information through the Autokit App, unless others have access to your phone, your vehicle and additional hardware or the secure recovery password you set up for Autokit account, if such feature is made available.
A. Type of Information We Collect
The Autokit app collects and stores real-time driver and vehicle data including the following information:
- Driver Full Name
- Driver Email Address
- Driver Mobile Number
- Driver License Information, if provided
- Driver Auto Insurance Information, if provided
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), if provided
- Vehicle manufacturer, model, year and mileage, if provided
- Telematics data including GPS location, driving speed, traveled distance
- Driver facing and road facing videos, if eligible for trip recording
- Unsafe driving behavior including but not limited to:
- drowsiness
- distraction
- overspeeding
- harsh acceleration
- harsh braking
- harsh cornering
Additionally, the Autokit app utilizes analytics tools that measure anonymized usage of the application, including but not limited to stability issues, frequency and duration of usage .
B. How We Use The Information We Collect
We use the information for the sole purpose of improving the quality of our service (i.e. keep you safe on the road and give you peace of mind). We don't share this data with third-parties, unless authorized by you or requested by a law enforcement agent.
C. How You Can Access and Manage Your Trip Recordings
If you are eligible for the trip recording functionality, you can review this information directly from the Autokit app. You can delete recordings at will. However, in the event of an accident, Autokit shall securely keep a copy of the corresponding recordings for your benefit up until or for a period of time after the case is closed by your insurance company and/or a judge. The period of time shall be communicated to you by our support team.
D. Changes to This Policy
We will occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our services and processes. When we post changes to this Privacy Policy, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. If we make any material changes in the way we collect and use your personal information, we will notify you by sending an email to the email address you most recently provided us. We recommend that you check our the About section of our app or this web site from time to time to inform yourself of any changes in this Privacy Policy.
